Shape & profile

Shape image

[Shape]

Directional Twin

Twin-inspired shape with subtle directional tuning. A slightly longer nose improves float and handling in variable terrain when riding forwards, without limiting its switch performance. The go-to shape for all-mountain riders who want the best of both worlds.

[Pr0file]

CamRock

Versatile all-mountain profile featuring camber between the bindings with equal amounts of rocker in the nose and tail. Camber delivers pop and precise edge control, while the rocker adds forgiveness, smoother turn initiation and better float in soft snow.

3D Contour Base

Shape image

Surf-inspired shaping for next-level performance.

Inspired by the rounded bottom contours of surfboards, 3D Contour Bases are designed to make every run smoother and every turn more effortless by reducing the drag of the board tips. 3D Contour Bases enhance glide and improve float, helping you ride faster and with better flow. Learn more

[3d_pr0file]

Medium 3D Contour Base

3D Contour Base tuned for all-terrain featuring 4mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 0-4mm of spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts just before the contact points.

How it works

Riding flat
Riding flat

When riding flat, the spoon bevel on the edges is not engaged, but it does help smoothly deflect snow away from the nose of the board.

Turn initiation
Turn initiation

As you begin to make a turn, the spoon bevel helps you smoothly roll the board on to your egde with less friction and edge drag.

Mid turn
Mid turn

In the middle of a turn, camber and Traction Tech keep you locked onto your egde in the center of the board while the spoon bevel reduces the "plow effect" of your nose and tail edges.

Very efficient to climb the mountain and technical in the descent.

Last winter was my first winter with this splitboard and I have done about 50 activities in the mountain with different types of snow and situations. This splitboard has been very decisive in all of them. In the ascents it behaves as a great climber and it's capable of surfing all kinds of snow in the descents.

unfortunately I can't do a good review because it's my first splitboard of my life. but as a "snowboard" he found it very reactive, and a good feeling both in fresh and hard snow.

My "Solution" to Social Distancing

Love my Solution Splitboard and Jones Skins! Work at Ski Santa Fe during the season. Was great to use before the lifts open on Pow days, backcountry, and after our COVID-19 shutdown. Used with Union Expedition bindings.

Great alpine board.

Had the solution for a season before writing this, and it's a great board. I have the 169W and although it's pretty big, it's well performing. The stiffness allows easy edging on split mode, and control in lousy choppy conditions.

This board does take some work to control, so it may not be the best option for a beginner/intermediate rider. It's a great all around board, but if I were riding mostly trees/pow, I would opt for a softer and shorter board. The majority of the time I'm riding in the glaciated alpine, so it's a good choice for me. I'm planning on picking up another Jones board in the future for pow tree days too.

Best if not only true twin split board out there.

I love the new 157, except it seems the core in one of my board halves has failed (right in front of the front pucks) after only three days of touring. Im sure it is just a fluke and Jones will warrantee it, I hope. I have a 2020 mountain twin split with over 100 days of touring on it with absolutely no issues, so I can only assume I must have gotten a lemon. It did seem way more noodley than my 2020 board as well. The board thickness in the center is also 0.030” thinner on the 2024 model. Not sure if that says anything.

I love my splitboard. I am new to split boarding but not snowboarding. Great float in powder and versatile. I've used this from the back country to resort and I love it

Ive been using it a Lot for Close missions, with fun terrain. I really love this splitboard beacouse im able to have a solid board feeling when hitting jumps and rocks. Great for freestyle backcountry. Ive been using it in 160 and really loved it. Took it to an Alaska trip and Felt really safe about using it in hard Snow to steep powder runs.

Great twin splitboard

My favorite splitboard, efficient on all terrains and in both directions! A reliable tool to ride steep and exposed lines as well!
Riding size 157 for 165cm height.

Light and high performance

Sometimes a twin is just right. Having a tail for landings and the ability to confidently ride switch through tight tree run outs have been a big plus on this board. The new Karakrom clips help alot with torsional flex. The 3D spooning does help this deck plane better when the snow stacks up, but unless you set it back still expect some back leg burn. Jones stays making them right.

A great way to get into Splitboarding

It's reasonably playful and feels great on the way down, and still decent when pushing harder on it. The traction tech edges definitely make a difference here in NZ as the conditions can be quite variable with some quite packed/firm snow in lots of places. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend it!

Great option for someone trying

Great option for someone trying to ride the backcountry like a terrain park. The directional twin shape and 3D base give you good float in the soft stuff without taking away from the comfort of riding switch.

Perfect Splitboard

I wanted to ride this thing hard before posting a review and have put a lot of days on the 21’ Solution in every condition. First off, the touring/climbing. The solution is great on the skin track. It has great contact points and balance and decreases effort needed to get where you’re going. The camber sits directly below your foot when climbing and the rockered tip does a good job sitting on top of the snow when breaking. Obviously not as light as the carbon sticks but feel light on the skin track and overall a great climbing split.

For the downhill, the new shape of the Solution really shines. I was worried that the increased taper and bigger 3-D nose would take away some of the charging ability that the Solution has been known for but it hasn’t. It still is a stiff board and the rocker and 3-D contour doesn’t start until after the front foot, so you still get a lot of camber and stiff flex where you need it and adds to a very stable ride on steep slopes and on harder pack and ice. Great use of contact points to get the edge hold on ice as well. Powder riding is where you find the huge improvements over previous models. The bigger 3-D nose does a really nice job of floating and you can see the 3-D nose push the snow to the side to improve the float and maximize speed. I wasn’t sure the 3-D contour would do much, but it really does. Tight turns are pretty easy and this thing can get surfy. It’s a super fun, charging board to ride in the backcountry. I haven’t found any real cons for the new Solution yet but will update if something comes up.

As far as sizing, you can size up or down pretty comfortably based on your riding style and terrain. The 3-D shape and taper makes it much more maneuverable so sizing up isn’t a big issue if you are in deep snow and steep, open faces. And stiff flex and big, wide nose allows to size down if you are in tight trees often or like to slash. I’m 5’11” 190lbs with the 162 Wide due to tight trees I ride on most days. I’m happy with the size and it has done well in deep powder 18-36 inches but would have gone 165 wide if I were in deep powder most days. I haven’t had any issues with stability on 35 degree plus slopes or icy slopes.

Overall, this is the best split on the market at this time in my opinion. I have ridden a lot of splits and would use the Solution in pretty much all conditions Over the competition.

Carves like a dream.

I have ridden only on hard pack and crud so far but it rides like its on rails! Only a few missions on it, but i can push it as hard and fast as my flagship.
I can’t wait for more snow to see how it surfs.
I’m on Union Expedition FC bindings and the combo is great.
