I love the new 157, except it seems the core in one of my board halves has failed (right in front of the front pucks) after only three days of touring. Im sure it is just a fluke and Jones will warrantee it, I hope. I have a 2020 mountain twin split with over 100 days of touring on it with absolutely no issues, so I can only assume I must have gotten a lemon. It did seem way more noodley than my 2020 board as well. The board thickness in the center is also 0.030” thinner on the 2024 model. Not sure if that says anything.

Ive been using it a Lot for Close missions, with fun terrain. I really love this splitboard beacouse im able to have a solid board feeling when hitting jumps and rocks. Great for freestyle backcountry. Ive been using it in 160 and really loved it. Took it to an Alaska trip and Felt really safe about using it in hard Snow to steep powder runs.

Sometimes a twin is just right. Having a tail for landings and the ability to confidently ride switch through tight tree run outs have been a big plus on this board. The new Karakrom clips help alot with torsional flex. The 3D spooning does help this deck plane better when the snow stacks up, but unless you set it back still expect some back leg burn. Jones stays making them right.
