Details

Shape & profile

A snowboard's outline defines many of its characteristics, from how it turns or floats in powder to its performance riding switch. Shape affects everything from the width and taper of the nose and tail, to the position of the stance relative to the board's center.

Shape image

[Shape]

Directional

Purpose-built to perform in one direction with a longer nose, shorter tail and setback stance that optimize float, maneuverability and edge power. Designed for riders who prioritize performance on groomers, variable terrain and in the backcountry over switch or freestyle riding.

[Pr0file]

High Power Camber

Full tip-to-tail camber delivering explosive pop and locked-in edge control. An 8mm rise and extended flat zone under the rear inserts amplify power and precision in the tail to drive out of turns and stomp heavy landings on steep terrain.

[Taper]

Low Tapered

A subtle taper that aids directional performance but keeps the ride feeling balanced and dynamic on piste and resort terrain. Popular with riders who like to carve the resort or push freestyle in the backcountry, without giving up versatility on the powder days. Any shape with a taper of less than 10mm between the nose and tail.

3D Contour Base

Shape image

Surf-inspired shaping for next-level performance.

Inspired by the rounded bottom contours of surfboards, 3D Contour Bases are designed to make every run smoother and every turn more effortless by reducing the drag of the board tips. 3D Contour Bases enhance glide and improve float, helping you ride faster and with better flow. Learn more

[3d_pr0file]

Medium 3D Contour Base

3D Contour Base tuned for all-terrain featuring 4mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 0-4mm of spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts just before the contact points.

How it works

Riding flat
Riding flat

When riding flat, the spoon bevel on the edges is not engaged, but it does help smoothly deflect snow away from the nose of the board.

Turn initiation
Turn initiation

As you begin to make a turn, the spoon bevel helps you smoothly roll the board on to your egde with less friction and edge drag.

Mid turn
Mid turn

In the middle of a turn, camber and Traction Tech keep you locked onto your egde in the center of the board while the spoon bevel reduces the "plow effect" of your nose and tail edges.

Features & construction

100% of our adult models feature high-end materials, construction technologies and responsible manufacturing processes. We accept no compromises in producing the most durable and responsibly produced snowboarding gear. Learn more by checking out our Materials Library

[C0re]

Power Core

Advanced triple-density full wood core made from responsibly harvested Bamboo, Paulownia and Poplar. Centered Bamboo stringers enhance durability, pop and torsional stiffness, while the Paulownia keeps the core light and damp.

Koroyd

Developed from aerospace technology, award-winning Koroyd synthetic core material is the lightest core dampening material we’ve ever tested. It absorbs vibrations and reduces tip swing weight, enabling quicker, smoother turns.

[Fibers]

Triax Fiberglass

Triaxial fiberglass laminate made with a triple-layer, multi-axis construction that delivers a precise and powerful board feel with a mid-stiff torsional flex for supreme response in variable snow conditions.

[Stringer]

Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer

Bcomp Carbon / Flax stringers offer the perfect performance balance as the carbon provides crazy pop and the flax sucks up chatter and reduces CO₂ emissions compared to a full carbon stringer. Developed in collaboration with the Swiss engineering firm Bcomp.

[T0psheet]

Premium Eco Topsheet

Durable and scratch resistant bio-plastic topsheet made from castor beans that’s engineered to provide exceptional abrasion and impact resistance while minimizing environmental impact.

[Base]

Sintered 8000 Base

Premium sintered base material that’s ultra fast, highly wax absorbent, easy to repair and proven to be one of the most durable and long lasting base materials in the industry.

Wend Natural Wax

All Jones snowboards come factory waxed with WEND natural wax so they’re ready to shred straight out of the shop.

[Resin]

Bio Resin

A bio-based epoxy made with 27% plant-based carbon that reduces CO₂ emissions by 33% compared to conventional petroleum-based epoxy. Sourced from plant-based industrial by-products, its unmatched bonding properties deliver industry leading durability and performance.

[Edges]

Recycled ABS

Recycled ABS sidewalls with a rounded finish that are engineered to enhance durability by reducing topsheet chipping and impact damage.

Recycled edges

Bombproof steel edges made from recycled German steel, engineered for maximum strength and long-lasting durability.

Developed, tested and ridden by the pros

The Howler was designed in collaboration with four-time Freeride World Tour champion Victor de Le Rue and Natural Selection Tour winner Elena Hight.

In pursuit of their ultimate freeride snowboard, they crafted a design that could not only step up to big mountain lines, but also bring freestyle performance into the backcountry.

The goal for the Howler was to make a freeride board that had the power to stomp harder and spin faster. This is a board for riders who want to test their freestyle skills in steep terrain.

– Victor de le rue

Engineered for
Freeride x Freestyle

From its flex and profile to its construction and shape, the Howler is built to charge big lines without sacrificing freestyle performance. A powerful camber profile and reactive core provide the stability and response for heavy terrain, while its blunted, minimally tapered shape keeps freestyle at the heart of its design.

Go bigger

Matching a mid-stiff flex with a unique full camber profile that extends the apex of the camber past the back inserts is what gives the Howler such stomping power. The extra camber in the tail makes the Howler super poppy on takeoff and incredibly stable on touchdown.

Charge harder

Its construction features ultralight Koroyd in the nose section of the wood core to decrease swing weight and Bcomp Carbon/Flax stringers under both bindings to suck up chatter and add torsional stiffness. 3D Flip Tips improve float and help the nose and tail slice through variable snow.

Rider freer

The Howler’s blunted and minimally tapered shape offers the float benefits of taper without compromising switch riding performance. The shape also maximizes effective edge length, allowing the Howler to be ridden shorter than a traditional freeride snowboard. Victor rides the Howler 161cm on the Freeride World Tour.

The Howler is truly my perfect board. I can trust it in any terrain because it's super stable riding fast, and the tail is amazing for landing big tricks.
